North Country Quality Foods & North Country Cooked Meats Statement
North Country Quality Foods and North Country Cooked Meats have been forced to take steps to place the companies into liquidation and both companies have ceased trading immediately.
They will go into liquidation following a sustained period of voluntary closure, It will unfortunately mean the loss of 46 jobs.
The two companies have been unable to trade since June 3rd, 2019 as they have been assisting with an investigation by the Food Standards Agency and Public Health England into a Listeriosis outbreak at hospitals in the North West.
All food products were withdrawn from the supply chain as a precautionary measure and production was suspended.
The directors and staff of the businesses have been fully compliant with investigating officers, giving them full support. To date the outbreak strain has not been discovered at the factory and the investigation has now been extended to examine the businesses supply chain.
As the investigations continue, the businesses are still unable to trade.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our diligent and hardworking employees for all of their efforts over the past 42 years along with our customers suppliers and other associates.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with those families affected by the hospital listeria outbreak
The liquidation will be handled by Duff & Phelps (https://www.duffandphelps.co.uk)
